The post holder will insure the systematic application of safety and security management policies and procedures in the operational areas of Uruzgan. This will include the ongoing assessment of threats and provision of advice to manage risk. To assist Operations Coordinator the maintenance and updating of security guidelines; ensuring that field security working practices are robust and that all staff of Programs are aware of, trained in, and adhere to security management policy, guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Integral to the posting is the ability to work successfully with field teams to cultivate capacity and motivation thereby ensuring field-based responsibility for security analysis and management.

Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Insure the implementation of security guideline of SC in Urozgan by all Program members, in accordance with SC global security guideline. Finalize security plans as part of a fully inclusive process involving as many team members as possible.
â€¢ Ensure that contingency plans for evacuation, relocation, hibernation, and medical evacuation are in place, disseminated and adopted amongst relevant staff and Program members including a detailed contextual assessment and situational update of Urozgan situation which is regularly revised at least monthly.
â€¢ Ensure that SC vehicles, premises and equipment are compliant with basic security standards.
â€¢ In close collaboration with Program members and Office manager compile a risk assessment and regularly revise as and when the context and situation on the ground changes.
â€¢ Assist with inductions and security awareness training held for Program staff members as well as for visitors to the joint Program office in Tarin Kowt.
â€¢ Participate in the security related meetings in Urozgan and coordinate security assessment with other stakeholders in Urozgan.
â€¢ Research and analyze security related information at Urozgan and South region level and liaise with Security Coordinator on security matters with all relevant actors in the province, such as national and international NGO organizations, UN department of security and safety, ANSO, Program members, international security forces, police department and other forces, as and when required in order to produce a formal weekly security update.
â€¢ Identify security related information sources and create an information gathering network in Urozgan.
â€¢ Participate in providing training for Program staff members in security and safety related subjects ensuring that guidelines/protocols are being understood and implemented by all staff members.
â€¢ Ensure that communication systems are adequate and maintained and provide training to staff on the use of such equipment and communications protocols in conjunction with the admin/finance officer.
â€¢ Pro-actively share information with head office in Kabul ensuring high security awareness levels and close situation monitoring.
â€¢ In conjunction with Operation Manager ensure that regulations pertaining to travel in the field are implemented in a systematic and timely manner.
â€¢ Support the Program staff to ensure that incident report forms are properly compiled by the relevant staff members and that the same are disseminated to the relevant actors concerned.
â€¢ Investigate the loss/damage, car accident and other related issue by request.
â€¢ Coordinate post-incident follow up actions, analysis and recommendations.
â€¢ Ensure systems are in place to instantly respond to a crisis management situation.
â€¢ Liaise with local government (representatives) on security related issues.
â€¢ Ensure that briefing documents and maps are developed to help orient all new staff (national and international) about the overall security situation in Afghanistan and the particular threats and procedures in Urozgan.
â€¢ Conduct ongoing threat assessments and compile reports on security assessments of office, staff house, filed sites and project areas.
â€¢ Provide input to project/bid proposals to ensure safety and security is adequately resourced.

â€¢ Experience on Security and safety fields
â€¢ More than 4 years work experience with different national and international Organizations.
