Safety Officer

Duties & Responsibilities

Under supervision of AKCC, the selected candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

• Review and amendments on company’s Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) according to the Project/Client requirements.
• Must have attended OSHA classes (live or online), Certificate of 30 OSHA classes needed.
• Lead and manage Safety routine procedures on site.
• Leading and managing Safety meetings to insure all staff onsite knows about Hazards of their daily activities and ways to prevent them.
• Safety reports and evaluations of all construction activities
• Report all incidents and accidents immediately to the QC Manager on site
• Provide safety meeting minutes to the on QC Manager on site.

Job Requirements

• B.Sc in Civil Engineering.
• More than 8 years experience in the Building Construction safety programs.
• Minimum 4 years of work experience as Safety Manager with US Army Corps of Engineers
• Able to Communicate and Comprehend in English and local languages.
• Able to Operate Computer Systems
• Ensure adequate documentation and filling system.
• 30 Hours of OSHA Training
• Excellent organizing skills and accuracy on daily tasks and inspections
• Excellent training skills regarding Safety regulations and rules
• Being a good team player, good interpersonal and communication, facilitation and community mobilization skills
• Being available on the project site at all times during the work sessions
• Ability to work well under pressure
