Afghanaid is a British-registered international NGO, which has worked in Afghanistan for over 30 years. We assist community-driven processes that address the rights and fundamental needs of people in some of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, providing basic services, supporting development of rural livelihoods and responding to humanitarian emergencies. We are headquartered in Kabul, and operate 20 provincial and district offices across Badakhshan (north-eastern region), Samangan (northern region) and Ghor (western region), as well as a Marketing and Fundraising office in London. We employ around 160 personnel, 97% of whom are Afghans.
Security Guard is responsible for patrolling and protecting Afghanaid promises and assets and ensure personnel safety, maintain a high visibility presence and deduct suspicious and illegal activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
a. Maintain security of Afghanaid premises/ property/ personnel.
b. Perform duty at premises as per duty schedule and answer telephone and, gate, promptly and according to the procedures.
c. Check safe entry and exit of visitors/ vehicles/materials and equipment’s according to the procedures.
d. Receive, register and guide the visitors to the concerned people according to accepted norms and procedures.
e. Advise visitors on parking of vehicles and monitors parking according to the procedures.
f. Patrols premises routinely to check security of all grounds, doors and windows (in every 15 minutes check out of main gate to make sure there is no suspected object, person and vehicle).
g. Carry out an overall check-up of all living rooms, offices, warehouses, generators, vehicle, bathrooms, and kitchens before the staff reach and leave the office.
h. Report immediately any unusual observation/events and incidents to Security Head.
i. Familiarizes him-self with emergency procedures; seeks information from Security Head if in doubt (e.g. usage of fire extinguishers, alarm bells and their location.
j. Attend meeting as required by Security Head.
k. Be able to perform patrolling during the night according to the night shift schedule.
l. To provide support to the cleaning, maintenance and gardening of the premises as required. (Snow cleaning, to broom corridors, compound ground if needed).
m. To provide active support to any (male/female) staff in various task if required.
n. Perform any other related duties as required by line manager.
Training on security and be literate is preferable.
At least three years of experience in similar capacity.

a. Able to operate or familiar with the security related equipment i.e. mirror for searching the vehicles, magnet detector, fire distinguisher, security alarm, monitor with CCTV and etc
b. Strong communication skill in Pashto and Dari;
