The Security Officer (SO) works under the direction of the Chief of Party and has the function of providing advice and overseeing security personnel and assets throughout the operating areas in Afghanistan. The SO is the primary person responsible underneath the Chief of Party for ensuring the safety and security of both Afghan staff and international visitors.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Will be a key member of the company Crisis Management Team, and will provide strong and balanced operational judgment and advice for the project in Afghanistan.
â€¢ Will liaise with multifaceted organizations at all levels in order to provide the best service.
â€¢ Has strong management skill to manage security subcontractors through a diplomatic and focused manner, achieving the required service delivery goals.
â€¢ Will provide necessary support to international consultants in terms of travel and lodging, providing them with necessary information, training, information updates, and equipment to ensure their safety and that of others traveling with them.
â€¢ Will provide advice to the URC staff for their business travels.
â€¢ Will provide regular training on security and risk related topics to project staff, including training new staff on URC security policies and procedures.
â€¢ Will contribute to and update written policies, manuals, information handouts, and other documents related to security management
â€¢ Provide regular updates to the senior management and help them in making timely security related decisions.
â€¢ Part of SO's job is to support the Administration Department of the URC in terms of logistics and organization of events.
â€¢ Dynamic and proactive, the SO must be able to anticipate future contractual requirements and place these into an operational context, while ensuring company field and corporate expectations are met in full.
â€¢ Any other job assigned by the CoP.
Fluent in Pashto, Dari and English.
Well familiar with regions and government structure of Afghanistan.
A minimum of 3-5 years relevant security-management experience with international organizations or UN is required.
Experience with organizations implementing Health related programs is an advantage.
Well familiar with word, excel, power point.
