About Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO):
The Afghan Social Marketing Organization (ASMO) is a social marketing and behavioral change communication organization established in August 2008. ASMO as a free-standing, not-for-profit Afghan organization aims to create positive health outcomes by giving Afghan households the information they need to make informed and healthy choices and expanding access to high quality health products through commercial markets.
From the inception to-date ASMO successfully implemented multimillion Dollar projects in Afghanistan through sub-awards sponsored by USAID focusing to improve health services.
ASMO is currently working as a sub-contractor with Abt Associate Inc under SHOPS Plus/USAID project (The Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector Plus.
The Security Officer will be responsible for security operations that primarily focus on personnel security as well as protection measure necessary for assets and properties of ASMO. He/she will adopt preventive approaches to prevent risk and deter risk or danger.
Provinces to travel:
Technical skills: Excellent understanding of security protocols and procedures
Concise and alert for any treats inside the organization and report immediately to line manager
ability to monitor and manage CC Cameras
Must be able to write, read and communicate effectively and demonstrate security news and situation to staff members
Being able to express and report properly any accident or being preconscious to avoid any accident inside the organization
Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as liaison officer between ASMO and local government authorities on the security issues related to personnel and workplace if
Provide escort services to the ASMO’s personnel where needed and travel involves assets movement.
Lead installation of security camera at ASMO office and warehouse and check proper functioning of surveillance cameras within ASMO premises
Review current travel and security policy and procedures of ASMO to assess effectiveness and adequacy of procedures and suggest new update/changes for improvements
Contribute to the development of new security and travel policy
Assist staff in travel within or outside Kabul area or regionally assigned staff in provinces of Herat, Mazari-Sharif, Jalalabad and Kandahar if security interaction required and to counteract appropriately to resolve problem
Call police, or fire department in case of emergency such as fire or identification of suspicious activities
Record security incidents and write reports
Report to Senior Admin & Finance Manager immediately when any suspicious incidents identified
Circulate security incidents among staff and propose safety measures on how to prevent/avoid such incidents
Actively supervise activities and performance of guards assigned at office and warehouse ensuring that guards are on duty both day and night shifts and they are performing their duties according to their duty roster and established procedures
Actively supervise activities and performance of office drivers and monitor their movements within the city assuring them of security advise/alerts
Carry out routine and surprise site visit at locations where guards are on duty to assure that their assignments are regulated
Provide necessary safety and security training to guards and drivers
Perform other task assigned by line manager

Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in administration or equivalent. Trained security certificates are required
Industry experience: At least 5 to 7 year work experience as security officer/manager with national/international security companies, UN or International agencies in Afghanistan
