About National Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority:
National Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Authority (NMHRA) functions to regulate medicine and Healthcare Products in Afghanistan. NMHRA is aimed to ensure availability of effective and safe medicine and healthcare products with high quality and fair prices. It works to manage and control production, import, delivery and distribution of medicine and healthcare products to ensure efficacy, safety and quality. The authority develops and implements effective standards for improving safety, effectiveness, quality and ease of access to medicine and healthcare products throughout the country. Core functions of NMHRA includes developing and enforcing medicine and healthcare products related rules, regulations and policies, licensing businesses and professionals, registration and control of medicine and Healthcare Products including Narcotics and Psychotropic drugs, pre and post market quality control and surveillance, regulation and control of advertisements and publicity, determination and control of prices, and clinical trials regulation and control.
The Senior Advisor for NMHRA Executive director will responsible to advise NMHRA ED in technical activities to ensure the implementation of activities are according to NMHRA approved concept,

Duties & Responsibilities:
To regulate the current funding situation for the NMHRA and its associated performance and benefits.
To identify future financing needs by costing relevant MoPH strategies and policies for key health sector programs and intervention.
Design and develop proposals related to National Medicine and Health products for fund raising and support of donors and external funding agencies.
Review policies and strategies including policy implications and recommendations while considering sector policies and strategies
Provide support to NMHRA executive director to build partnership with nationals and internationals engaging concerned stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration with priority programs, with special focus on the development and implementation of NMHRA work streams funded by donor and external stake holders.
Influencing national and international regulatory frameworks so that they’re risk-proportionate and effective at protecting public health
Support partnership with national and international agencies for exchange of information/knowledge and experience
Contribute to advocacy programs for collection of safety/quality reports from public and private sectors.
Identify possible supports and establishing sustainable mechanisms of obtaining the required technical and financial resources for better performance of NMHRA
To provide technical support for the implementation of developmental activities.
Provide regular or ad hoc plan or report in coordination with executive director of NMHRA
Any other task given by NMHRA executive director.
Job Location:Afghanistan, Kabul
University degree in medicine from a recognized university, MPH, MBA, MSc or equivalent degree is preferable
With at least 3 years work experience with NGOs, UN agencies or Government institution.
Having the report writing skills and experience to write comments and review of narrative reports.
Have an excellent knowledge of English (written, speaking, and understanding)
Have a good computer knowledge MS word, excel, power point.
Good knowledge and experience in health management projects.
Good communication skills to work and deal with MoPH, UN agencies and other related people.
