Tetra Tech, through its subsidiary ARD, Inc., is accepting expressions of interest from qualified Senior Agribusiness Development Specialist candidates for a USAID-funded Agricultural Credit Enhancement program in Afghanistan. The purpose of this four and a half year project is to support Afghan financial and private sector intermediaries to provide sustainable agricultural lending initiatives and strengthen agricultural value chains.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-- Develop value chain linkages â€“ input suppliers to producers, producers to primary processors/aggregators, primary processors/ aggregators to secondary processors, secondary processors to logistics providers, and logistics providers to markets;
-- Assist producers, producer groups and enterprises to improve the flow of inputs and services to producers in the project area and to increase the market opportunities for the sale, distribution or processing of farm output;
--Serve as senior advisor on all matters relating to the development of agricultural production, micro, small and medium enterprises, and commercial value chains.
Qualifications and Experience:
--Minimum of 10 yearsâ€™ field experience in successful agricultural value chain development; experience implementing USAID-funded assistance programs preferred;
â€“ Experience in working in conjunction with the cold chain in developing countries will be a plus;
--Extensive experience in the food and agriculture sector, with functional areas of expertise in agribusiness finance, marketing, operations, and general management;
--Substantial experience providing applied business development service;
--Masterâ€™s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness or related field;
--Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
--Advanced computer skills required.
--Fluent in English, and some knowledge of Dari or Pashto desired.
