Work closely with Senior Agricultural Markets and Market Information Advisor to support MAIL in developing new markets for agricultural produce, both domestic and export; and develop a market information system (collection analysis, packaging and dissemination). Tasks will include working with MAIL to establish data-points for producers, post-harvest providers, entrepreneurs, and investors for information pertaining to Afghanistan high-value agriculture, and then building on that data to identify opportunities for high-value agriculture in import substitution and export creation.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Also responsible for supporting MAIL in market information analysis and packaging relevant information by value chain as well as by production regions and disseminate information to relevant actors in value chain.
At least 10 years of professional experience in agricultural trade development and market information systems;
Experience working in market information in Afghanistan (or region) required;
Demonstrated experience working with senior level host-country counterparts;
Degree in relevant field required (advanced degree preferred);
Prior experience working on USAID or other donor funded programs preferred;
Strong English language skills required.
