About Afghan Women Resource Center

Job Summary

1. Work with a cooperative spirit within communities (AWRC works in) to develop strong networking relationships and close associations with community leaders and the project’s participants and assist in need assessment for developing and designing community development projects.

2. In association with the senior management: develop: detailed timelines and schedules of valuations and implement and monitor the project’s objectives and activities to ensure that all these set targets are met.

3. Direct and coordinate the activities associated with the project in order to meet AWRC organizational objectives and the donor’s expectations.

4. Ensure that all the requirements or aspects of the project are undertaken and completed on time.

5. Oversee the gathering and analysis of information about the project undertaken and prepare reports about the project achievements as directed by senior management.

6. Advise senior management on matters requiring attention, and implement management decisions.

7. Assist in the recruitment of support staff and administer, manage and guide all support staff in all project’s objectives and monitor all work and activities undertaken.

8. Identify the risks associated with a projects, such as implementation or financial risks, and execute strategies to reduce these risks in consultation with senior management.

9. Work within the project budget parameter and monitor all out going costs with assistance from the financial and logistics units of AWRC.

10. Attends and conducts meetings about relevant issues with support staff, head project participants and communities leaders.

Job Requirements

1. University graduate (agriculture or related faculty)
2. Strategic management skills
3. At least 3 years experience in agricultural or related field
4. Strong personnel management and coordination skills.
5. At least 2 years experience working in management positions (senior officer level)
6. Excellent writing skills in Dari and English.
7. Experience in NGO community or women’s development work /advocacy work.
8. Knowledge of/interest in human rights issues.
