About Capital Region Independent Development Authority (CRIDA):
The capital region of Afghanistan comprises the Kabul, Wardak, Logar, Kapisa and Parwan Provinces. The total area of the capital region is more than 7735 km2. In order to make safe urban environment and tackle the problems caused by ever increasing population growth in the capital of Afghanistan considering the concentrated economic activities and services provision, Dehsabz City Development Authority (DCDA) has been promoted to Capital Region Independent Development Authority (CRIDA) (As per the Presidential Decree No. 44 dated 23rd June 2016 based on Cabinet Resolution no 3 dated 30 April 2016 of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan). CRIDA is an Independent Budgetary Unit and Governmental profitable entity within the organizational structure of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Capital Region Independent Development Authority (CRIDA), not only develop Kabul New City project but also pave the ways for the development of Capital Region with broader visions which are briefly narrated as follows: 1. Transforming the Capital Region by turning it into a mega city that is clean, environmentally friendly, cultured with booming industries and commerce, sports and tourism and ultimately a metropolitan city that is self-reliant and sustainable, a city that has infrastructure and facilities of high standards with healthy physical environment. 2. Building a diverse community that is free of ethnic, linguistic, racial and religious prejudices. 3. Promoting urban culture and enhancing the standard of life through development of the Capital Region. 4. Development of cities (through decentralization for balanced development) within the Capital Region by protecting the originality, historical value and organic linkages with the existing Kabul city to transform the entire capital zone into a symbol of national unity.
CRIDA is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer or electrical design manager to play active role in Structure Design division and contribute in managing and preparation of multidisciplinary tasks for achieving the strategic goals of CRIDA on objective basis.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting Line: The Road Design engineer will report directly to the senior manager of Power Supply and Telecommunication Department and Director of Structure Design Division.
To carry out all calculations required for design of power supply systems in all kind of buildings.
To design power supply network and facilities for Development all kind of buildings projects in Capital region.
To Develop and prepare design documents of power supply networks and power facilities.
To apply the national and international standard of Power supply System while designing or reviewing the design and Ensure drawing compliance with CRIDA’s CAD standards and styles.
Manage and review the design of buildings power network.
Commission and training in power distribution networks, power supply networks, and power facilities in all kind of buildings (INSIDE and OUTSIDE).
Communicate closely and regularly with MEW and Brishna Company on Power Supply projects for Kabul New City Project.
Attend conferences and meetings on power supply and other energy activities.
Help in development of energy efficiency measures based on Demand projections, including energy efficiency, energy conservation, demand side Management programs and renewable energy promotion.
Prepare reporting formats & guidelines for various reports. Provide written inputs into Report sections on scoping/methodology, baseline assessment, scenario Development, impact assessment and best market practices.
Assumes responsibility for the development of energy efficiency measures of Substantial importance, which while undertaken to solve practical problems of Program/project design, implementation, and evaluation.
Provide advice and direction for important energy efficiency activities involving Gathering, analyzing, interpreting, and information dissemination regarding Program/project activities.
Prepare TORs for executing agencies for activity implementation and coordinate with local service providers and key stakeholders to ensure timely execution and completion of projects.
Identify and implement methodology/guidelines for assessing the energy efficiency & costs associated with different scenarios.
Minimum B.Sc. degree in Power Supply, Electrical Engineering, or other similar field Master degree is preferred;
Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in related field ;
Good knowledge of Auto Cad ;Working knowledge of M.S office Word, Excel, Power Point and Project
Excellent writing and spoken Pashto, Dari and English are a plus.
Able to work independently and under the stressful conditions
Previous similar experience in designing and implementation of power supply projects;
Previous experience in design and implementation of power plants and power facilities
Experienced in commissioning and training of power plans and power supply networks
Ability to perform effectively under pressure and with short deadlines;
Experience in working with MEW projects and Brishna Company is an asset.
