Job Summary

The Sr. IT OFFICER will provide support to all IT systems and functions in Head Quarter, Kabul Regional Office and across all branches of FINCA Afghanistan. This will include administration, management, upgrading, and trouble-shooting of all hardware, software, and network facilities.  

Duties & Responsibilities

·        Manage the staff and equipment that’s handles switching, routing, and Firewalls. 

·        Ensure smooth operations of all IT systems and data security

·        Responsible for ensuring robust IT disaster recovery and business continuity processes and the associated documentation are in place

·        Running regular checks on network/system/data security

·        Identifying and acting on opportunities to improve and update and software and systems

·        Overseeing and determining time frames for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages

·        Managing and reporting on allocation of IT budget

·        As a backup role for Security and System Admin

·        Maintain Global Active Directory. By defining users and Domain

Installation and configuration of all type of server/Operating system.

·        Installation and configuration of virtualization environment (Hyper-V and VMware)

·        Manage Help desk application

·        Responsible for the design of the technical architecture

·        Responsible for all backups and develop procedure for backups

·         Designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.

·        Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment;

·        defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.

·        Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation.

·        Overall maintenance and management of data center 

Job Requirements

·        BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field

·        Senior IT officer must have a good understanding of server technologies. This includes operating systems, as well as physical and virtual servers. Storage, backups and disaster recovery are usually the responsibility of the server team as well.

·        Proven working experience as an IT officer/Network Administer or relevant experience

·        Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems

·        Expertise in data center management and data governance

·        Hands-on experience with system administration, and security administration

·        network administration

·        BS in Computer Science, MIS or similar field
