Job Summary

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will carry out the mechanical design tasks of newly awarded projects by U.S Army Corps of Engineers.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Understand the Codes and Standards
 American Society for Mechanical Engineering (ASME)
 International Mechanical Codes (IMC)
 International Plumbing Codes (IPC)
 AED Mechanical Guide requirements
2. To design water supply upgrades
3. To Analyze and calculate the water supply and waste water system
4. To design waste water poundings
5. Understand the water supply main tests
6. Well-familiar with industrial device, Like: Booster pump, Chlorination Machines, fain coils ....etc
7. To analyze and design HVAC
8. To analyze sanitary sewer collection system layout
9. To analyze and design the waste water treatment plants
10. Understand the mechanical requirement for generators
11. To design mechanical pumps
12. To design effluent distribution systems
13. To work at the site
14. To design water pipes

Job Requirements

 Mechanical Engineering degree (B.Sc or higher)
 Water Supply Engineering degree(B.Sc or higher)
 At least 2-3 years experience in mechanical field with U.S Army corps of Engineers
 Good computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office Package
 Ability to easily communicate with local people in a community
 Must be able to read and comprehend long and detailed RFPs in English, that meet all the specifications described in an RFP
 Must be familiar with Afghan and American construction standards
 Must be able to meet very tight deadlines
 must be coachable (willing to learn new skills)
 Must have experience working on and managing multiple projects at the same time
