Job Summary:
The Senior Placement Officer is a full-time, program position with mobility and access at Career Centers at targeted public universities and internship host institutions. S/he will lead the Placement Cell (consist of Placement Officers, a Program officer and partially the Head of Career Centers) provide students with working experience placements including internships, practicum and regular jobs. The incumbent will be assigned primary responsible to collaboratively work with Career Centers to meet their placement services objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the work of the Senior Manager, University Support by providing proactive technical assistance for the placement initiatives at USWDP target universities, including university students’ internship programs, employment partnerships;
Supervise the placement team and provide technical and administrative support to the field staff while conducting their duties;
Assist and recommend design and delivery of training workshop to university counterparts (Tashkeel positions) on Career Centers’ employment services;
Customize students/employer matches by instituting competency modelling;
Develop reports, success stories and policy documents on internship and job placements;
Compile and share student experiences such as key learnings, and student and employer recommendations, or endorsements, regarding their work experiences;
Support Career Center in data management, database of employment services by career centers;
Liaison with public and private sector entities to bring potential partnerships between USWDP target universities and industry, especially on placement services;
Assist the team at USWDP Career Centers to review and upgrade the resumes and cover letters of the students and job-seeking graduates per job market needs;
Mentor and provide regular advising services to the placed students;
Provide interview assistance to the target students at USWDP target institutes;
Work closely and assist the Heads of Career Centers by enhancing their knowledge on Job market needs and what topics to be added to the career counselling session when they interact with students and graduates;
Support the visibility and promotion innovations of Career Centers’ employment services;
Other responsibilities and tasks as assigned by the supervisor or project leadership
Job Requirement:
Bachelor Degree in (economics, education, business, development and social sciences) is required
Minimum (5) years of relevant work experience in program/project management in development, education, governance, workforce and private sector development
International donor-funded program experience and knowledge of USAID programs and regulations
Computer skills, including MS. Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint
Excellent oral/written communication skills in English and either of national languages
Demonstrated strong writing, communication, teamwork, and innovative skills
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision but skillful in collaborating and coordinating with other program staff and partners
