Job Summary:

Internews Network is an international media development organization, working in
Afghanistan since 2002, Internews Network is seeking four (04) Senior Program Officer candidates for the USAID funded RASANA project, a media support initiative in Afghanistan, which has the goal of further strengthening the media sector, particularly through training women journalists and building investigative journalism skills. The Senior Program Officer will report to the DCOP and will provide support on all aspect of activity implementation for the program.

This position is open to Afghan nationals. Qualified women are encourage to apply.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Including the following, other duties may be assigned:

Support the DCOP and RASANA team and work with local partner on project design and implementation and monitoring and evaluation plans.

Oversee and manage the implementation of activities in keeping with the program objectives.

Manage and oversee the work of the program team in implementing project activities.

Coordinate with media partners to ensure implementation of M&E and communication activities.

Develop and maintain strong relationship with media organizations and other stakeholders to further project goals.

Ensure good communications and productive relationship with media partners.

Provide progress reports as required.

Ensure gender inclusion sensitivity in program implementation

Job Requirement:

5+ years programmatic experience

University degree or diploma

Good English writing and communication skills

Fluency in Dari (Pashto and advantage)

Computer and internet literacy

Previous work experience with USIAD/USG programs and projects preferred.

Experience with gender and media development projects a significant asset.

Understand and demonstrate commitment to upholding Internews’ Core
