Description of the project
The position announced is related to the shelter programme being implemented in Herat province to facilitate the voluntary return of refugees from Iran as well as IDPs and vulnerable host communities by improving their basic living conditions by offering technical assistance, shelter package (construction material and cash), community mobilization and hygiene training.
• The Team Leader is responsible to manage all the phases of the Shelter program including but not limited to; beneficiary selection, project planning, traning, procurement, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
• Supervise the shelter team;
• Schedule and participate in the field missions;
• Keep the Data base;
• Produce reports on weekly and monthly base (narrative, time sheet, data sheets).
• Ensure that all administrative and logistical tasks are promptly and correctly completed in accordance with NRC policies and procedures, and that the work and scheduling of the shelter staffs is correctly managed.
• Represent NRC in meetings when requested and promote exchange of information with relevant external actors.
• Remain updated on technical and legal considerations (national lows, standards and codes) regarding community mobilization and ensure that staff maintain and update their knowledge.
• Participate in NRC staff seminars and training, when scheduled.
• Coordinate strategy and approach with other NRC offices and personnel, including information and decisions important to the work of other offices
• Manage the delivery and monitoring of all training activities and employment targets by securing and maintaining files and records of beneficiary -trainee referrals;
• Produce weekly and monthly reports (narrative, financial, time sheet, data sheets etc…)
• Ensure that all administrative and logistical tasks are promptly and correctly completed in accordance with NRC policies and procedures.
• Facilitate an integrated approach with other NRC personnel and departments.
• Any other tasks as assigned by the Programme Coordinator.
• University degree in Engineering or other related field
• Minimum five years previous work experience in the same or similar role preferably with UN or NGOs.
• Good knowledge of community participatory approaches
• A related experience in shelter project
• Experience of beneficiary selection process
• Proven management skills
• Good IT skills
• Excellent written and spoken English
