Job Summary:

VHC/INC looking for an innovative Civil engineer to design, develop and construct a range of project physically and naturally built environment from conception through to completion. Skills Description:

·        Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, erosion control, regulatory approvals etc.

·        Project management and supervision skills

·        Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·        License of professional engineer

·        Conduct on site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other)

·        Carry out technical and feasibility studies and draw up blueprints that satisfy technical specifications

·        Assess potential risks, materials and costs

·        Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies

·        Oversee and mentor staff and liaise with a variety of stakeholders

·        Handle over the resulting structures and services for use

·        Monitor progress and compile reports in project status

·        Manage budget and purchase equipment/materials

·        Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc and deliver technical files and other technical documentation as required

·        English language skills as well as country local Languages (Dari and Pashto)

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • setting out, leveling and surveying the site.
  • checking plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
  • ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
  • overseeing the selection and requisition of materials and plant.
  • Resolving technical issues with employer’s representatives, suppliers, subcontractors and statutory authorities
  • Quality control in accordance with IS/procedures method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans, all prepared by the project management team and by subcontractors.
  • Supervising and counselling junior or trainee engineers.
  • liaising with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
  • day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors.
  • planning the work and efficiently organizing the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.
  • overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site;
  • preparing reports as required.
  • resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
  • Reporting daily, weekly and monthly report from site to main office.
  • Manage, design, develop, create and maintain small-scale through to large-scale construction projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner

Qualifications:

·        1.    BSc in Civil Engineering timely and sustainable manner or extensive work experience in relevant areas.

2.    Minimum of one year of professional experience in the field of site engineer , including supervisory experience and exposure to personnel management.

Working knowledge of the VHC official language used for communication within the country English and working knowledge of the most widely used local language (Dari, Pashto & Uzbeki)
