Afghanaid is a British-registered international NGO, which has worked in Afghanistan for over 30 years. We assist community-driven processes that address the rights and fundamental needs of people in some of the most remote areas of Afghanistan, providing basic services, supporting development of rural livelihoods and responding to humanitarian emergencies. We are headquartered in Kabul, and operate 20 provincial and district offices across Badakhshan (north-eastern region), Samangan (northern region) and Ghor (western region), as well as a Marketing and Fundraising office in London. We employ around 160 personnel, 97% of whom are Afghans.

Job Summary:

With the help of the community, Identification, selection, survey, design, submission of proposals and implementation of, community infrastructure projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

To assist communities in identification, analysis and prioritization of community projects, site surveys and final selection of community infrastructure projects
To assist communities in the procurement of materials and the supervision of quality control for their infrastructure projects
To assist communities in supervision and implementation of infrastructure projects

Job Requirement:

Competencies and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
Having at least 2 years experience in the relevant filed with national and international NGOs or government
Able to design the infrastructure projects in computer
Able to communicate in Dari Pushto language, good in English

Quality Needed:

Personal integrity, hard working, committed to his/her job, good team player, ability to work under stressful conditions, gender sensitive, excellent communicator, awareness of personal strengths and weaknesses, ability to manage conflicting priorities in personal workload, ability to work in multiethnic/lingual/cultural environment
