Job Summary

Chemonics International, a leading international development consulting firm, seeks a small and medium scale enterprise development specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded energy sector improvement program. The objective of the program is to improve access to reliable and affordable clean energy, improve regulations and governance in the energy sector, demonstrate the use of innovative technologies and busines models, and assist with the transition to a low-carbon development trajectory.

Duties & Responsibilities

The SME Development Specialist may be asked to carry out activities such as: assist and support local and national governments establish policy regimes conducive to clean energy SME development; work with clean energy enterprises on business development activities such as business plan
development; and work with microfinance institutions to support clean energy enterprise and consumer lending.

Job Requirements

Advanced degree in engineering, economics, business or energy/environmental policy.
Prior international donor experience on similar projects
At least 5 years of applicable technical and professional experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
