Job Summary:

The general function of the position is to implement the activities of the IOM Project as indicated in the work plan at the field level, engages in mobilizing the communities, identifying beneficiaries, conducting trainings and coordinating with other concerns working in the project coverage and provide regular support to the team working on the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

•To effectively mobilize communities and ensure awareness building as per the project goals and objectives
•Carrying out the survey and assessment of returnees and IDPs in assigned villages for IOM infrastructure fund
•Support the CDC and community members to prioritize their infrastructure projects and revise their CDP
•To build the capacities of community members on different issues related to the project goals and objectives
•To participate in procurement of sub-projects’ construction materials with procurement committee
•Facilitate IOM and donor staff to have visit and monitoring on the project site
•Under the supervision of the Project Officer, to plan and organize all activities required for the project (identification, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) for his/her areas of assignment
•To organize and manage regular meetings with the community in the project area with regard to different issues of the areas
•To implement and support the assigned activities (community organization, training, workshop, distributions, monitoring and other assistance).
•Maintain all documents related to the areas in standard filing system
•Prepare regular reports and submit to the Project Officer/ or Project Engineer
•To ensure active women participation in all aspects of project implementation as per ActionAid approach
•To establish and maintain good relationships with the communities, and local authorities
•To assist with other project staff as and whenever required
•To carry out social audits in the community to ensure transparency and accountability in program implementation
•Support CDC and community members to develop proper maintenance plan of subprojects.
•Handing over of completed infrastructure subprojects to CDC and community members.
•Perform other related activities assigned by the supervisor/ organization

Job Requirement:

•High School Graduate (12 Grade)
•At least two years experiences with International and national organizations in implementations of programs
•Ample background in community mobilization
•Knowledge of Ms. Office Programs
•Excellent written and verbal communication and relational skills, , especially in a cross – cultural environment
•Problem solving skills
•Good interpersonal skill
•Gender sensitive
•Be able to work independently as well as in a team
•Willingness to travel frequently as per requirements of the project
