Job Summary

The Start-Up Operations Manager will be responsible for the roll out of the SearchPath activity. This person should have experience in project start-up and be prepared to lead all logistical, operations, and facilities roll out of an activity.
Term of Assignment: 6 months

Duties & Responsibilities


Coordinate with Project Manager, Kabul; WIE team; and US-based SearchPath teams.

Support Kabul team and franchisees in acquiring needed goods and services to enable effective and efficient start-up.

Management of SearchPath implementation schedule in coordination with other units.

Support franchisees in the acquisition and facilities set-up of their independent offices.

Oversee all day-to-day office logistics.

Monitor compliance in accordance with USAID regulations and Afghan law.

Manage the office’s day-to-day operations (including the facilities such as office space, equipment), administration, logistics and procurement.

Provides input and revision recommendations for SearchPath operational manuals, policies and procedures.

Research, investigate and identify new ways of achieving project operational efficiencies within Afghanistan.

Assist franchisees in developing franchise start-up grant applications and budgets.

Ability and willingness to travel to provinces of Afghanistan.

Job Requirements

College diploma or equivalent in related field preferred. High school certificate required.

At least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in relevant positions.

Fluency in English required. Fluency in Dari, fluency in Pashto highly recommended

Excellent organizational skills is a must.

Excellent facility skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and ability to create supportive working relationships with external vendors and internal team members.

Computer literate with e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet.

Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred. USAID-funded project experience is a plus. Must have willingness to travel to provincial field offices.
