PIU/ACD/SCRTFP-AF, Multi Location
PIU has planned to design 35 to 40 projects which includes warehouse, Admin Bldgs, Hostel, parking lots, boundary walls, roads, culvers, water towers, water supply system, site landscaping etc.. for Afghan Customs Department in different locations of such as Herat, Nimroz, Farah, Kandahar, Kabul, Nangarhar, Balkh etc. A design team will be hired to carry out complete design of the project. Structure Design (Civil) Engineer will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities but not limited to:
Carry out engineering designs of structures and pavements using ACI/AASHTO/IBC/BS methods
Preparing the complete & comprehensive plan for design process, as per ACD/PIU plan.
Responsible and undertake design duties for buildings, warehouse, roads & miscellaneous design (drainages, culverts, footpaths & other related structures).
Prepare design calculation and reports.
Collect design data from the field and relevant departments;
Check & review to be ensure that collected data & survey data are as per site, realistic and update.
Prepare design drawings using Civil 3D, AutoCAD or any similar type of software.
Prepare design reports, drawings, profiles, cross sections.
Ensure all designs are suitable and in compliance with standard and CODs.
Undertaking design duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
Advising the estimation engineer in preparing the cost estimate and BoQ.
Perform any other duties required by the senior managements.
a. Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
b. Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ of relevant experience at appropriate level, with experience in design of buildings structures and Experience in design of road pavements.
Experience and ability in preparing reports and structural calculation.
Proficient with Ms. Office, internet, Auto Cad, Sap 2000, SAFE, ETABS, STAAD Pro, STAAD Foundation and etc.
Relevant experience in World Bank funded projects, ministries, and also experience in working with civil society organizations and international organizations will be preferred.
Fluency in both oral and written English, Pashto and Dari languages are essential.
Good understanding of site construction techniques and building design principles
Ability to manage various projects and tasks simultaneously

Strong attention to detail with proven ability to work under tight and shifting deadlines
