Job Summary

MCIT intends to hire a Sun System Engineer; the objective of this assignment is to support e-NID project in the Management and system areas under the project

Duties & Responsibilities

The consultant will work under the guidance of the project manager in the PMO and coordinate with other System’s staff. He/She will be accountable for ensuring that the system is running smoothly, with a reasonable assurance, accurate and timely information on the system status. Detailed task include:

 Work as part of a team providing professional and comprehensive support.
 Ensure performance monitoring and optimization, and continuous improvement of relevant technologies
 Monitors use of resources, backup’s files as required and responds to management requests for information.
 Responsible for Administration, Installation and configuration of Sun Servers, Storages, FC Switches and Backup Libraries.
 Responsible for Upgrade and Troubleshooting of all relevant systems.
 Maintains system security and data integrity.
 Maintaining the system up-to-date with all project activities;
 Preparation of related project reports to MCIT related units and the Project Manager;
 Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of the entire Sun Systems.
 Strong knowledge of RAID Configuration
 Strong knowledge of Oracle Virtualization.

Job Requirements

 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT or related field, Master Degree Preferred.
 Must meet requirements for implementation of this Job Description according to article 7 of Civil Servants Law
 Should be Afghan National.
 Minimum of 5 Years of Relevant work experience.
 Full command in UNIX, LINUX, Solaris Systems and Sun Storage.
 Certification in Linux Administration/Solaris Administration.
 Strong Communication and reporting Skills.
