Ti (Technologists, Inc.) is a major construction company working with USACE since 15 Years.
The Surveyor leads a survey crew as they measure distances, directions, and angles between points and elevations of points, lines, and contours on, above, and below the Earth’s surface and as they select known survey reference points and determine the precise location of important features in the survey area using specialized equipment. Reports to Survey Team Leader.
Essential Functions:
Typical work activities include the following:
· Leads day-to-day work activities of survey crew on job site.
· Responsible for all equipment
· Uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to locate reference points with a high degree of precision.
· Expert Total Station™ Operator
· Measures and maps the geographic surface of construction site.
· Establishes official land, airspace, and water boundaries.
· Takes measurements of construction sites.
· Provides data about the shape, contour, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features.
· Records their results, verify the accuracy of data, and prepare plots, maps, and reports.
Working conditions: Surveyors and technicians engage in active, sometimes strenuous, work. They often stand for long periods, walk considerable distances, and climb hills with heavy packs of instruments and other equipment. They also can be exposed to all types of weather. They should be in excellent physical condition. Work in Afghanistan is often in isolated and unsecured regions. Team leader must coordinate all activities with Ti security forces
Bachelor's degree in surveying or a closely related field, such as civil engineering or forestry.
Three years of relevant experience.
Ability to visualize objects, distances, sizes, and abstract forms.
Must work with precision and accuracy.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are important.
Able to research old deeds and other legal papers and prepare reports that document their work.
Bachelor's degree in surveying or a closely related field, such as civil engineering or forestry.
