Job Summary

Support and maintain LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems. Maintain complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video application Enough knowledge of VoIP implementation and support Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities


The SAs shall be responsible for installation, configuration, and operation of all MoD system equipment within their area of responsibility, This includes, but is not limited to:
 Microsoft server 2012 installation and maintenance
 Microsoft Domain Controller
 Microsoft DNS
 Microsoft DHCP
 Microsoft File server
 Microsoft print server
 Microsoft webserver
 Cisco Switches
 Cisco Routers
 Basic knowledge of Cisco ASA Firewall
 Cisco wireless access points
 And etc…

Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

Good knowledge of IPv4 addresses and sub netting skills

Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.

Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.

Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.

Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.

Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning

Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

The SAs shall report and coordinate all troubleshooting and fault isolation with the senior and the NMIAC via the MOD Network Trouble Ticket Database.

And other tasks given by manager.

Job Requirements

 Bachelor degree of IT or computer science is preferred.
 Minimum of 4 or 5 Years of professional experience as a field.
 Capable of utilizing hand tools and test equipment to perform work
 Excellent verbal & written communication skills & customer relation skills-
extremely customer service oriented.
 Ability to work independently and resourceful with good initiative and discipline.
 Strong interpersonal skill.
 Must know share point.
 Willing to work nights & weekends when necessary
 Valid online certification of CCNA and MCSE 2012 is required
Online certifications of valid, CCNA Routing & Switching and MCSE 2012 are must.
A bachelor degree in IT field is preferred.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills & customer relation skills.
Must have knowledge of Reporting.
Ability to work independently and resourceful with good initiative and discipline.
Must have good communication skills in Dari, Pashto & English ( Writing , Speaking )Strong interpersonal skill. Minimum of 4 to 5 Years of professional experience in the related field.
Capable of utilizing hand tools and test equipment to perform work.
Must travel all 34 provinces of Afghanistan
