About Chemonics RAMP UP South:
The purpose of RAMP UP is to create effective, responsive, democratic, transparent, accountable, and gender sensitive municipal governance in targeted municipalities throughout the country. RAMP UP will: (1) increase the capacity of GIRoA municipal officials, (2) improve the delivery of municipal services to citizens in target municipalities, and (3) increase municipal capacity to enable, support, and sustain economic growth. As a result of RAMP UP, Afghan citizens will receive better services, understand the responsibilities of municipal leaders, play an active role in the municipal decision-making process, and see local governance structures as legitimate.
The Systems Analyst will work closely with the Component 3 Team Leader (TL) to help implement and provide support to Kandahar City technical staff to manage the technology infrastructure. It is expected that analyst will help the TL to develop a Standard Operating Procedure for the municipal technical staff to help maintain the network.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Work closely with technical consultants as needed.
â€¢ Collaborate with other project areas to insure maximum coordination among staff.
â€¢ Ensure staff usage of office network / IT systems is consistent with IT policies
â€¢ Troubleshoot internet, email, computer, printer and any other IT equipment issues, at individual desk level of users of computers and software programs
â€¢ Perform first line of defense maintenance and minor repairs on hardware equipment.
â€¢ Train individual users to learn and rigorously back up data regularly
â€¢ Follows all IT procedures and policy in RAMP UP Offices
â€¢ University degree in computer science and/or other technology certification in relevant field preferred.
â€¢ Minimum two-five yearsâ€™ experience in local governance subject matter expertise including: urban planning, strategic planning, financial management, accounting, public works, or human resource management.
â€¢ Prior experience with foreign assistance funded programs preferred.
â€¢ Strong troubleshooting abilities, especially in networking, MS Applications and MS Operating Systems
â€¢ Prior experience in desk-side training experience
â€¢ Pashto fluency required
â€¢ Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
