Job Summary

Role Title:Taxation/Reconciliation Officer

Reporting to: Finance manager

Duties & Responsibilities

·        Reconciliation of Selina’s bank accounts, Reconciliation with Sales teams for settlement related transactions of customer funds and GL Reconciliation

·        Perform the reconciliation and verification of accounts regarding cash at hand and cash at bank

·        Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports regarding all cash deposits to the bank(s)

·        Reconcile and rectify all ledger accounts belonging to customers

·        Reconcile accounts that fall into receivable records with the sales invoices

·        Maintain constant contacts with the company’s customers

·        Follows up all transactions continuously and provide updates to the management

·        Perform reconciliation of fixed assets with admin department

·        Reconcile the company’s cash book

·        Reconciliation of raw materials, productions and sales

·        Perform reconciliation of vendor balances and customers balances with account

·        Reconciliation of payroll with HR department

·        Calculate tax as per Afghanistan Tax Law

·        Estimate and track tax returns

·        The Taxation officer shall review the monthly payroll for verification for taxes

·        Calculation of withholding tax on all purchases

·        Calculation of BRT and Rental Taxes as per Afghan Tax Law

·        Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports for Afghanistan Revenue Department

·        The Taxation section shall ensure accurate and timely monthly withholding filings and annual tax return to the MoF

·        Preparing and submitting all tax and revenue reports to government

·        Clearing all tax related issues with government

·        Clearing all goods in custom for import/export

·        On time renewal of all licenses

Verbally given tasks

Job Requirements

   -     Bachelor degree in finance or accounting

-     Professional qualification such as ACCA, CFA/CPA or similar will be considered a plus

-     Proven 3 years relevant experience

-     Proven experience with government tax related departments

-     Familiarity with tax, custom and license renewal departments of Gov.

-     Proficient user of finance software

-     A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles

Fluent in English and local languages (Pashto & Dari)
