The Organization of Human Welfare is a non governmental organization(NGO)and is non-‐ political, not-‐for-‐profit,and impartial organization with no bias towards a particular religion,ethnicity,or political belief.It has its own independent legal status and entity. OHW is registered with the Ministry of Economy in Kabul, Afghanistan(Registration No:1014) and is a member of SouthWest Afghanistan and Baluchistan Agency for Coordination(SWABAC), the coordinating body for NGOs in southern Afghanistan. The Managing Director of OHW also formally represents SWABAC in coordination meetings at the national level.

Duties & Responsibilities

The team leader will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting all of the activities related to the project. This includes but is not confined to:

• Monitor and supervise the overall activities of the vocational training centers

• Provide technical support / assistance and feedback as necessary

• Provide detailed work plan, training schedule, training materials and resource mobilization for the program

• Develop a follow-up action plan as necessary

• Develop learning materials for the trainees in a workbook/manual form containing important topics/tools for literacy sessions

• Monitor, manage and evaluate trainers’ performance.

• Lead and supervise the project delivery team, both technically and managerially

• Effectively set achievable goals in difficult circumstances

• Coordinate procurement matters with provincial office ( Procurement department ) as necessary

• Work closely with Project Manager to coordinate and manage the overall activities of the training sessions

• Practice how to give Critical Feedback professionally and lead team members by providing constructive

• Manage project staff and each activity to ensure quality outcomes in terms of performance and deliverables

• Exercise oversight over all technical and financial aspects of the project including the provision of regular reports

• Prepare and submit the bi –weekly and monthly report, using the organization’s template/format

• Develop, maintain and regularly updating a project risk management strategy

• Ensure trainers and the support team have the knowledge and ability to adapt the delivery of training

• Manage the training staff so they have day-to-day support, feedback, supervision, and allocation of roles and responsibilities

• Lead the team to ensure compliance with all OHW policies and procedures

• Attend SMT and staff meetings when required

• Any other tasks, assigned by the line manager

Job Requirements


• Have previous successful track record of being able to meet deadline and complete assignments within the stipulated time-frame

• Experience working in a leading position (Team Leader) in a related project, or other significant management experience and ability to line manage team of professional colleagues


 Strong experience in designing/developing and implementing VT sector reform projects

• Strong analytical ability and report writing skills

• Ability to work under pressure and any inconvenience situation.

• Good communication and inter personal relation skills

• Good spoken and written Pashto, Dari and English languages

• Prior work experience with any UN or international agency shall be an advantage

 Have excellent networking ability with the stake holders in the country including government agencies, industries, NGOs, training organizations, etc
