About MADERA:

 

MADERA is a French NGO implementing humaniterian aid programs in Afghanistan since 1988. MADERA was registered with Ministry of Economic of Afghanistan in No. 199, 1/2/2006. MADERA implements rural development projects in various fields (Agriculture, Animal Health, Forestry, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, Handicraft, Community Driven Development etc.) in 5 provinces: Wardak, Kunar, Laghman, Nuristan and Ghor. MADERA’s headquarter is located in Kabul while MADERA is also represented at regional and provincial levels through several offices and sub-offices. Finally MADERA general delegation is based in France (Paris).

Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Provincial Coordinator and in close collaboration with Operations Department and the Technical Advisor, the Team leader Rangeland Management together with a team of technicians, implements and monitors MADERA activities in the related field in both Behsud I and II Districts.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of Madera’s Pasture Management activities (Pasture Regeneration Test, Community Mobilisation, Awareness Training Sessions, Construction of Passive Solar House etc.);
• Design and organize the extension works and the required trainings around activities;
• Liaise with the communities of the district and clarify Madera strategy in the related field;
• Strengthen the collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock at both district and provincial levels;
• Participate to necessary procurement and purchases;
• Respect all Madera procedures;
• Manage a team of 2 to 4 technicians;
• Participate to the drafting of Monthly Fund Requests;
• Report about the progress of activities and the achievements on monthly basis;
• Propose orientations of the programme;

Job Requirement:

• University degree in Agriculture, Natural Resources Management or an associated field;
• Open to innovative practices and interest for botany;
• Management and teaching capacities;
• Ease in relationship, adaptable to remote and rural context/areas;
• Organization, strictness and initiative;
• Good standard of English Language (Spoken, Read and Written);
• Computer operating skills (Word and Excel);
