The Assistance for Afghanistanâ€™s Anti-Corruption Authority Project is a three-year, USAID-funded anticipated program to provide assistance to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in its effort to build a strong, effective institution to lead, monitor and report on efforts to combat corruption in Afghanistan. This project will primarily work with the Afghanistan High Office of Oversight (HOO).
Assist HOO in establishing a sub regional presence and assist in establishing alternative mechanisms for redress of corruption complaints at the sub national level.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Assist in developing a phased plan of action to establish regional HOO offices;
â€¢ Conduct research on alternative complaint collection and redress mechanisms;
â€¢ Support establishment of several HOO offices at the provincial level; provide training and technical advice to the staff;
â€¢ Monitor the performance of the provincial offices and recommend adjustments to their procedures and mandates over time.
â€¢ Experience working with government bodies at the provincial level in Afghanistan to improve governance procedures and improving government transparency and accountability;
â€¢ Experience with traditional justice approaches to resolving conflicts and complaints;
â€¢ Experience on USAID funded projects preferred.
