Job Summary

Through the Local Governance and Community Development Project for Eastern and Southern Afghanistan (LGCD), USAID will assist the Government of Afghanistan and Provincial governments to extend their geographic reach. LGCD and local governments will implement small and medium-scale projects in currently underserved provinces and districts, help the villages and tribes of those areas resolve conflicts through the collaborative implementation of community-based development projects, and build the capacity of provincial and district governments to deliver services in a pragmatic and collaborative manner. LGCD is a project of USAID/Afghanistan in collaboration with Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs). LGCD for Eastern and Southern Afghanistan is implemented by Development Alternatives, Inc.

Purpose: The Translator will provide all the oral and written translation needs for the Project staff. Under the direction of the DAHRD, translations will be provided in English and X language(s). A detailed list of responsibilities is listed below

Duties & Responsibilities

• Under the direction and guidance of the DAHRD, perform written and oral translations of documentation as requested by office staff.
• Work with the DHRD to coordinate and manage translation requests of the office staff to ensure that all requests are completed in a timely manner.
• Translator should be fluent in Dari and Pashtu languages written and oral.

Job Requirements

• Related certification.
• At least 3 years work experience network administration.
• Experience/knowledge of website administration.
• USAID or other Donor project experience, a plus.
• Fluency in English and other applicable language(s).
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
