Job Summary:
Professional and practical knowledge of making confectionaries (cakes, buns, cookies, lolly pops, candies etc), pickles, jams, vermicelli, sauce, French fries, potato chips, ketchup, tomato paste, fast foods...
Training of food processors on the processing (formulation, cooking, packaging, labelling) of processed foods.
Identification of market and development of processed food products’ needs.
Development of packaging and branding procedures.
Identification of skills of food processors and guiding them in establishing a profitable business.
Identification and use of tools, materials and techniques used in food processing.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will train food processors on a variety of food processing products.
Works closely with Marketing Officer on the development of manuals on formulations and processing of various food products.
Develop hands-on skills of food processors on food processing (use of tools, materials and techniques, formulation, cooking/baking, packaging, labelling and marketing of food products).
Contributes to increased rate of food processors’ sales.
Develop packaging and branding procedures and techniques for processed foods.
Ensure quality of processed food products.
Manage wastes, identify its use in home-based farming with consultation of Agronomists and Animal Husbandry Officers and train the food processors on it.
Analyze cost-benefit of processed food products together with Marketing Officers and Food processors.
Must have strong communication skills in local language and sense identification, recording and promotion of community indigenous innovations.
Any other relevant task given by Supervisor.
Education/ Qualification and Employment Benefits
Education: Bachelor of Agriculture/Economics but preference would be given to food processing business owners
Experience 3 Years of Experience in related field
Other qualifications’ an advantage: Good training skills of processed food products and good training skills
Good Interpersonal Skills, Good Organizational Skills
Languages: Dari/ Pashto and English.
