Job Summary:
USAID’s Regional Afghan Municipalities Program for Urban Populations is highly focused to enable municipal governments to meet the challenge of improving service delivery to citizens in target municipalities rapidly. By demonstrating their capacity to produce tangible improvements in quality of life, Afghan governments will win the trust and support of its people and increase its legitimacy. RAMP-UP is absolutely critical to the success of the USG’s strategy to promote a more capable, accountable and effective government that serves the people and can eventually function with limited international support. The dual objectives of RAMP UP are to build municipal capacity on a sustainable, long-term basis while immediately producing visible and tangible improvements in service delivery and economic development.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• To identify training needs and develop programs for project beneficiaries
• Identify and design capacity building programs
• Design and carry out procedures to monitor and evaluate trainings being carried out both internally and externally in the field;
• Supervise training quality and preparation of training materials
• Carry out additional tasks as requested
Job Requirement:
EDUCATION:
University degree in similar field (relevant experience and another university degree may substitute for the degree mentioned).
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years experience in an equivalent position. Must have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible.
SKILLS:
Working knowledge of English, both written and spoke. Able to communicate fluently effectively both verbally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues. Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team. Must also be able to create a supportive working relationship among all project teams.
LANGUAGES:
Excellent Language proficiency in spoken and written English, Dari and Pashto.
GENERAL:
Tactfulness, Enthusiasm to the job. Good human relation skills, integrity and ability to work under pressure.
