Reporting to AMA Executive Director and in close collaboration with Communication and Information Specialist and all member Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in Afghanistan, the Training Specialist is to support AMA training service development strategy through planning, implementing, and evaluating demand driven high quality training services to AMA members.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ In consulting with AMA Executive Director, develop and implement and effective and high quality on-going system of training needs assessment of AMA members.
â€¢ Develop and implement annual training programs for AMA members through identification of specific needs and sources of training services.
â€¢ Develop and maintain high quality training services evaluation system.
â€¢ Develop and implement a plan for training capacity building of AMA.
â€¢ Address AMA staff training needs through conducting regular training needs assessments and on the job trainings.
â€¢ Represent AMA in contacts with internal and external stakeholders as relates to the core function of this position â€“ training services.
â€¢ Reporting - Establish and maintain effective reporting systems for both internal and external use in coordination with other AMA staff and partners to cover AMA training activities.
â€¢ Conduct regular AMA members training needs assessment.
â€¢ Identify and engage appropriate training service providers â€“ persons and organizations
â€¢ Conduct regular training service evaluations based on an accepted system.
â€¢ Develop and implement AMA staff training/development plans.
â€¢ Provide logistic support to training events organized by AMA: organize training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
â€¢ Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs.
â€¢ Review and evaluate training and apprenticeship programs for compliance with government standards (where applicable).
â€¢ Prepare training budget for AMA.
â€¢ Develop and maintain contacts and relationship with internal and external stakeholders, relevant for the implementation of AMA training activities.
â€¢ Any other work related task assigned by Executive Director.
â€¢ This position requires a BA/S in relevant field and minimum three years of administrative experience in relevant field.
â€¢ Demonstrated skills and experience in adult education/training and/or managerial position within MFI.
â€¢ Fluency with MS Office including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer as well as proven business correspondence writing and editing skills is necessary.
â€¢ Experience with procurement and other logistics systems including transportation management and asset management. Budgeting and strategic planning skills are desired.
â€¢ Excellent verbal and written communication. Multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization, and filing skills are necessary. Demonstrated attention to detail and proven ability to follow procedures, complete tasks, meet deadlines and work well under pressure in a cooperative, team oriented environment.
â€¢ Ability and willingness to travel within Afghanistan in an insecure environment.
â€¢ Good oral and writing skills of English are required.
â€¢ Fluency in Dari/Pashto is required.
â€¢ Basic skills in a second language, and experience working internationally are preferred.
