Duties & Responsibilities:
The incumbent is expected to translate and interpret from and into English, Pashto and Dari for all section in Kabul. Duties include but not limited to translate all official documents including letter of agreement destined for host nation government offices, courts, Ministries, provincial Governors, Notes and Demarches from Pashto to English and from Dari to English also vice versa. Maintain data base of contacts within the host nation government; and also serve as interpreter during the briefings and meetings.
Prime/ Sub- contractor representatives ad designated locations is a contract requirements.
Education: Bachelorâ€™s Degree or Equivalent Experience
Experience: 2 up to 10 years of experience in translating documents/interpreting with International Organizations, NGOs or Western Embassies is required.
Language: Level V (professional translator) speaking/ reading in English, Dari and if (Fluent) in Pashto languages is preferable.
Knowledge: Must possess a thorough knowledge of the local culture. Should have knowledge of various non-technical subjects.
Abilities and Skills: Individual should have the ability to act as interpreter during briefings, meetings and have a familiarity of legal/ technical terms and vocabulary.
