Job Summary

The candidate will be expected to render accurate and professional translation of documents in English and Dari/Pashto.
The candidate will be translating in the field of economy and social sciences.

Duties & Responsibilities

• The candidate will be responsible for translation of governmental and non-governmental Projects documents;
• The candidate will be expected to render accurate and professional translation of documents in English and Dari/Pashto;
• Translation of outreach materials from English to Dari/Pashto and vice verse;
• The candidate will be responsible for all the translation of all the meetings held by the Minister.
• The candidate will be prioritizing work to meet deadlines;
• The candidate shall be translating emails and other corresponding letters;
• The candidate shall be consulting with experts in specialist areas;
• Compile Dari or Pashto words and terminologies along with its English meanings that can be used as reference in translations;
• The candidate may also be required to do the verbal translation services in meetings and conferences;
• Creative copywriting in English with reference to original Dari/Pashto version and vice verse ;
• Proofread, edit, revise and translate materials for printed media and web.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, with written fluency in English and Dari/Pashto.
• Excellent writing skills, commitment, honesty and integrity in art of translation and ensure consistency of the translated documents with the original ones.
• Experience in translating, interpreting, copywriting and editing.
• Excellent English and Dari/Pashto language skills. Third language capability would be an added advantage.
• Professional, business-minded , flexible, mature and enthusiastic with strong communication skills.
• The successful candidate should be proficient in using the internet for research purposes.
