Job Summary

The Translator will provide all oral and written translation needs for ASI project staff in either English, Pashto or Dari, as needed, in accordance with DAI policy and procedures

Duties & Responsibilities

The Translator will perform the following functions but not limited to:
• Provide oral and written translation assistance
• Work with the Office Manager to coordinate and manage translation requests of the office staff to ensure that all requests are completed in a timely manner
• Other tasks as assigned by the Office Manager

Job Requirements

EDUCATION
• University degree in relevant field preferable. Secondary school degree with extensive relevant experience can be substituted for university degree.

WORK EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years experience in an equivalent position. Experience working in a similar position for an NGO or an international organization is preferred. USAID funded project experience is a clear plus. Willingness and ability to travel to high-risk areas, as needed. Must also have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. In addition, must be flexible, willing to perform other duties and work irregular hours.

LANGUAGES
• Excellent spoken and written Dari, Pashto and English required.

• Kabul
REPORTING:
• Reports directly to Field Director.
