Job Summary

The translator will be the core of filling the communication gap and knowledge within the center and its audience. he/she should be able translate strategic analysis, research papers, commentaries, and speeches of the Kabul Center.

Duties & Responsibilities

Translates from English into the host country language and translate vice versa. Interpret during meetings with high-level law officials. Duties include but not limited to translate from Dari or Pashto to English, all research material and/or documents to include: research papers, articles, news articles, documents; maintain a database of contacts; serve as interpreter during the conferences, briefings and meetings.

Job Requirements

Education: Completion of secondary (High) school is required.

Experience: One year of progressively responsible experience in translating documents/interpreting with Research Centers International Organizations, NGOs or Western Embassies.

Language: Level V (professional translator) Dari/Pashtu and English.

Knowledge: in addition to acquired language knowledge, translator is required to have and/or gain knowledge of Research Practices and familiarize himself/herself with Center's Operations by providing a helping hand in dealing with clients and/or arranging interviews or roundtable conferences.

Abilities and Skills: Individual should have the ability to act as interpreter during briefings and meetings and have a familiarity of research/legal/technical terms and vocabulary.
