About American University of Afghanistan:
The American University of Afghanistan (AUAF) is a private, non-profit university offering an American-style liberal arts education. We opened our doors in 2005 and currently offer 4 undergraduate academic majors and a new MBA program. Job Summary:
The Travel Officer will assist the Senior Travel Officer and make sure that all international travel management of AUAF employees is accomplished in a streamlined, efficient and timely manner. In addition, ensure all international employees have valid visas and work permits.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Travel Officer’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Make reservations and purchase tickets for all relevant incoming and outgoing national and international flights in a timely fashion;
Make reservations for hotels for travelers, as needed;
Coordinate with Security and Transportation concerning information relevant to national and international personnel travel;
Make updates of the current airline schedules on a weekly basis;
Submit monthly activities report to the supervisor;
Maintain a proper filing system of the visas issued, making sure to extend them when necessary in order to avoid fines and other inconveniences for international employees;
Responsible for obtaining work permits for all international employees and making sure they are renewed in a timely manner; and
Register international employees with the MoI upon entering the country.

The position requires the incumbent to reside in Afghanistan
High school graduate or a bachelor’s degree preferred
Three years of work experience in travel management with international organizations
Working knowledge of the government ministries such as MoI, MoFA and Labor and Social Affairs is highly desirable
Fluency in English and local languages
Be able to book flights online and through agents
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
