Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions, to update the base on the status of the mission
• Keeps record of missions that he made it
• Positions blocks and ties Straps, chains and binders around items to secure cargo
• Cleans, inspects, and services trucks
• Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials if any
• Obtains customer signature for goods delivered
• Assists in loading and unloading truck manually
• Ensures that steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in accident
• React professionally in crisis and emergency situation with following the instruction of the officers in charge
• Perform minor repairs and ensure that the assigned vehicle is clean and road worthy
• Logs official trips, daily mileage, oil changes etc
• Take care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned means of transport, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean
• Read and understand specific vehicle operating manual to ensure the safe and appropriate operations of the vehicle
• Negotiate, liaise and coordinate with local authorities to facilitate smooth running of vehicle movements in the designated area with following the instruction of officers in charge
• Identify any apparent problems during field deliveries and report to the appropriate personnel
