The Video Technical Advisor assists the Senior Technical Advisor in providing training, professional advice and guidance with media infrastructure planning, construction and installation. In addition, the VTA will assist in developing a Video/TV training course for training in house and provincial technicians.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢ Assists in capacity building of national technical and TV staff.
â€¢ Provides advice on curriculum development in all technical areas.
â€¢ Assist with reporting in compliance with donor guidelines.
â€¢ Assist with the design and implementation of content delivery systems.
â€¢ Assist with the construction of Provincial Television Stations.
â€¢ Assist in setting up national Video training centers.
â€¢ Create a training course to be used in training all local and NAI staff to be able to conduct Video/TV training courses.
â€¢ Assist in evaluating needs for TV in Afghanistan for future funding of the project.
â€¢ Evaluate the current abilities of Video/TV in Afghanistan.
â€¢ A degree in Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
â€¢ 5 years previous experience in electronic communications systems installation and/or commissioning.
â€¢ Previous experience developing and/or delivering technical training in a development context.
Experience in operating broadcast automation systems.
â€¢ Experience in streaming audio/video codecâ€™s operation and configuration
â€¢ Experience working with community organizations.
â€¢ Experience living and working in a hostile environment an advantage.
â€¢ Ability to handle multi-faceted programs.
â€¢ Must be an excellent troubleshooter, team player and be able to be a leader under pressure.
â€¢ Ability to adjust to shifting political circumstances and re-design technical and implementation activities accordingly.
â€¢ Sensitivity to cross-cultural dynamics in the work place.
â€¢ Must be willing to travel in country to remote sites to perform duties.
