Job Summary

Define, coordinate and monitor all Warehouse and Stock Management activities in the mission according to MSF Afghanistan protocols, standards, and procedures in order to ensure an optimal running of the mission.

Duties & Responsibilities

• -         In collaboration with the Project Supply Manager and the line manager define the project's warehouse and stock management activities and planning the annual budget in order to identify and optimize the response to the needs of the mission and the targeted population.
• -         Monitor the implementation of the projects warehouse and stock management activities, follow up of the medical and logistics stocks, ensure compliance with MSF standards, protocols and procedures, and report to Project Supply Manager and line manager on the development of the on-going programs. This can include the following:
• -         Ensure all equipment and premises are adapted to the proper storage of goods in compliance with the customer's requirements and Good Distribution Practices
• -         Ensure that physical and administrative management of the products inside the projects warehouse are properly managed in conjunction with the owners of the stocks
• -         Ensure the safety and the security for goods and people inside and outside the premises under his/her responsibility
• -         Analyse monthly/quarterly warehouse data, identify problems, and propose solutions to Project Supply Manager, line manager and owners of stocks
• -         Support inventory process at project level whenever needed/requested
• -         Support for designing stock whenever needed (Proposal for improvement / frequency of delivery / layout)
• -         Referent for the Warehouse Tools, including relation with HQ
• -         Referent for the Warehouse Process – including ensuring that chronogram are respected in all projects, warehouse meeting held in time, planning of activities in place, accurate SOP available etc…
• -         Ensure technical support for his area of activity and providing coaching to staff under his/her functional responsibility
• -         Give regular feedback to the line manager and report directly any issue or incident
• -         Perform hands on tasks as part of the team whenever required or needed in order to optimize the resources and to contribute with his/her knowledge and experience
• -         Participate in monthly reports according to guidelines

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES

Education

-         University degree essential

-         Proficient user of MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) essential

Experience

-         Experience in Supply essential

-         Experience in warehouse medical management is desirable

-         MSF experience is desirable

Languages

-         Dari/Pashtu: oral and written essential

-         English: oral and written essential

WORKING HOURS AND SALARY

Full Time / Schedule: 176 hours per month - due to the nature of the position the candidate must be willing and capable to sometimes work outside regular office hours

Salary will be paid according to the MSF salary grid
