Job Summary:

 The Webmaster is responsible for maintenance and day-to-day management of Pajhwok's public web site and content management system, social media pages and internal web applications. The Webmaster also assists in training new users, identifying requirements and sources for requested new features and with testing of new functionality.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Making sure that the public website is online at all times, and restoring the site when there are problems.
Performing periodic backups of all site content and restoring content when necessary.
Validating requested features for impact on performance and reliability of site.
 Working with editors and managers to assist IT Manager in prioritizing requested features.
 Evaluating sources for requested new functionality, including outside vendors and open-source modules on Drupal.org.
 Ensuring that new pages and graphical elements are consistent with the overall site design standards.
 If necessary, assisting in development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
 Ensuring correct implementation of new modules, themes and other components on the site.
 Assisting with testing of new features including unit, functional, performance and user acceptance testing
 Periodically upgrading Drupal CMS, modules and security features according to schedule.
 Monitoring host, web server and site technical performance and report on usage trends.
 Circulating timely reports using Google Analytics on usage, traffic sources, site visits, page views and other metrics.
 Troubleshooting site issues, and resolving problems to restore site as quickly as possible.
 May need to be on call for after-hours emergencies related to the site.

Job Requirement:

 Proven Website Management experience.
 Experience with the Drupal content management system (to include version 6) or similar CMS and a willingness to learn Drupal very quickly.
 Understanding of web design, including the ability to edit HTML by hand (not with a tool like Dreamweaver)
 Understanding of web infrastructure, including impact of JavaScript and JS frameworks on site infrastructure
 Experience with dynamic, data-driven web sites and web applications.
 A flexible attitude with proven experience of working in a small team.
 Attention to detail and ability to address issues independently without extensive supervision.
 Ability to communicate technical issues in clear language to management and non-technical team members.
