About Chemonics International:
Chemonics International, a leading international development consulting firm, seeks an Education Vocational Training Specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded Workforce Development project. The objective of the Workforce Development project is to increase job placements, salaries/wages and self-employment opportunities for Afghan men and women through the provision of market-driven skills training, business training and linkages to credit, business development support and job placement services.
Duties & Responsibilities:
â€¢Contributes to technical design and implementation of work plan to build the capacity of Afghan public and private sector technical vocational education training providers.
â€¢In coordination with governmental and private sector counterparts, identify potential market driven skills development programs, and improve vocational education curriculums.
â€¢Foster collaboration between public and private sector vocational training institutions.
â€¢Provides regular and constructive feedback and mentoring to program staff.
â€¢Ensures activities are supported by and promote capacity-building of public and private vocational institutions.
â€¢Manage and supervise short term consultants.
â€¢ Advanced degree from an accredited university in a relevant field preferred
â€¢ Prior international donor experience on similar projects (education, vocational studies design, curriculum development, education training, vocational teacher development, capacity building, workforce development, etc.)
â€¢ 5 years of applicable technical and professional experience
â€¢ Strong interpersonal and communication skills
â€¢ Fluency in English (written and spoken)
