Job Summary

Chemonics International, a leading international development consulting firm, seeks an Education Vocational Training Specialist for an anticipated USAID-funded Workforce Development project. The objective of the Workforce Development project is to increase job placements, salaries/wages and self-employment opportunities for Afghan men and women through the provision of market-driven skills training, business training and linkages to credit, business development support and job placement services.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Contributes to technical design and implementation of work plan to build the capacity of Afghan public and private sector technical vocational education training providers.
•In coordination with governmental and private sector counterparts, identify potential market driven skills development programs, and improve vocational education curriculums.
•Foster collaboration between public and private sector vocational training institutions.
•Provides regular and constructive feedback and mentoring to program staff.
•Ensures activities are supported by and promote capacity-building of public and private vocational institutions.
•Manage and supervise short term consultants.

Job Requirements

• Advanced degree from an accredited university in a relevant field preferred
• Prior international donor experience on similar projects (education, vocational studies design, curriculum development, education training, vocational teacher development, capacity building, workforce development, etc.)
• 5 years of applicable technical and professional experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
